What is gold filled jewellery?
Gold filled jewellery is crafted by bonding a layer of genuine gold onto a base metal (usually brass) core. The gold layer must make up at least 5% of the total metal content, making it more durable and long-lasting compared to other gold-plated options. It offers a luxurious look without the hefty price tag. All of our clasps and the middle of the daisy necklaces are gold filled components.
Are your gold filled pieces hypoallergenic?
While gold filled jewellery is generally hypoallergenic, it still contains a base metal core, usually brass. If you have known allergies to brass or other base metals, it's recommended that you consult with a dermatologist or choose jewellery with alternative materials.
How should I care for my gold filled and pearl jewellery?
To keep your gold filled jewellery shining, gently clean it with a soft, non-abrasive cloth after each use to remove any oils or residue. Store it in a jewellery box or pouch to protect it from scratches. For pearl jewellery, avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfumes and extreme temperatures. Clean pearls with a soft, damp cloth and store them separately to prevent scratching.
Can I shower or swim with gold filled jewellery?
It's best to remove your gold filled jewellery before showering or swimming to prevent damage caused by exposure to water, soap, chlorine, or saltwater. These elements can accelerate the wear and tear of the gold layer and potentially affect the overall appearance.
Can I return or exchange my jewellery?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you're not delighted with your jewellery, please refer to our return and exchange policy on our website. We'll be happy to assist you in finding the perfect piece or processing your return, depending on the circumstances.

What is the difference between gold filled and other materials?
-
Gold Filled
Gold filled jewellery has a layer of gold bonded to a trusty base metal core, usually brass. It has the thickest layer of gold, making it a long-lasting champion against tarnishing and fading. Plus, it won't break the bank like solid gold, so it's perfect for those who want to sparkle without emptying their pockets.
All of our jewellery has gold filled components and finishings.

Gold Vermeil
Gold vermeil jewellery starts with a sterling silver base, generously painted with a layer of gold. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to reactions, this option is the most hypoallergenic. However, the gold will eventually wear down, so handle it with love and keep it away from tarnish-inducing enemies.
-
Gold Plated
Gold plated jewellery has a thin layer of gold on top of a base metal and the most budget-friendly option. Just keep in mind, it's not built for the long haul (and not the most sustainable option). You will want to treat it gently and avoid any run-ins with water, sweat or lotions, otherwise it might lose its shine very quickly.
